Duelling Playlists

14 July 201302:56PMplaylist

I've got these playlists on my phone. On there, they're just called :) and :(, but I've given them better names here. One is sort of hopefully upbeat, and the other is vaguely nostalgically sad. I like to listen to them on the bus. Alone.

I've never really shared them before.

But, on a recent trip down south, I learned many things. I learned that ghosts are real, and they like to steal pants. I learned that there is more than one type of beer, and some of them are actually very tasty.. I learned that the parallax error inherent in trying to gesture at things which are infinitely distant makes stargazing with other people quite difficult, especially when your star-chart is hand drawn.

Probably the most interesting thing that I learned, though, was that this playlist (or at least the upbeat half) was not actually as groan-inducing as I'd thought. It was actually pretty cool. Which is, y'know, encouraging. So in the interests of freedom and openness and sharing and all that cool stuff, I thought I'd post them here.

(Also while we're here, can we just take a moment to appreciate how crap it is that the most convenient way to share music tracks is Youtube videos? Seriously, music industry. It's 2013. Get your act together.)

Ready? FIGHT!
